This area of the site is designed to help you by answering questions, giving you some guidelines and generally providing useful information. If you have a basic question it is worth checking here first, you may well find the answer.
The following are not in any particularly order and if we do not manage to answer your question here, please feel free to contact us.
Do I need to be an experienced sailor to come out with Blue Ocean Sailing?
Absolutely not, in fact we are very keen to encourage people who have never been on board a boat of any description, let alone a racer/cruiser like Talisman. As such, we offer special introduction to sailing days and weekends, specifically designed for novices. We are sure you will have a wonderful time and soon become as addicted to the experience as we are. All you need is a keenness to learn, a desire to enjoy the experience and the willingness to roll your sleeves up and join in. If you are an experienced sailor on the other hand we would be delighted to see you too. Our racing and cruising schedule is extensive and whether you are looking for your next challenge or just want to be out sailing without the pressure of competition - we would love you to join us.
What do your prices include?

What do I need to bring with me?
You can find a suggested kit list here. Of course your final packing is down to you but bear in mind that space on board any boat is limited. Please DO NOT BRING SUITCASES use a holdall or rucksack instead.
How do I get to and from the yacht?
The cost of your Blue Ocean Sailing experience does not include your transport from your home to the Yacht. You will need to organise getting from your home to the boat and then your return journey home from the boat.
Do I need personal travel insurance?
The simple answer is YES and please ensure your policy specifically covers your for sailing as well as the normal personal property, cancellation, accident, emergency and medical insurance. The boat is of course covered independently.
Do I need to be really fit to sail?
No is the simple answer. As long as you are fairly active, do not suffer from any serious medical conditions or disability, can get around the boat with relative ease and are able to help out with winching, setting sails etc you will be fine.
Special Requests.
If you have any special requirements, please ask, we will do our very best to accommodate you.
What type of accommodation does the boat have?
Accommodation on board comprises of four cabins, 1 in the front (double bed), 2 in the back (both with double beds and 1 pipe cot) plus a main cabin which hosts 4 single bunks.
